Maxine & Darcy Laceby

Founders of Absolute Collagen

Maxine and Darcy Laceby are the mother-daughter founders of Absolute Collagen, one of the UK’s fastest-growing wellness brands. Founded after Maxine after experiencing the benefits of collagen firsthand, the brand was built to challenge the idea that ageing is something women need to fix or fight.

Absolute Collagen has been named the 4th fastest-growing business by The Times, while Darcy Laceby has been recognised on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, and Maxine Laceby is a NatWest Everywoman award winner.

Absolute Collagen doesn’t see ageing as a limitation or a battle, they see it as something to own, existing for women who are done shrinking, done apologising, and done performing. Women have been told for too long that ageing holds them back, and Maxine is here to say it doesn’t. It’s not about chasing approval. It’s about the moment a woman looks in the mirror and knows she’s still got it, because she decides.

Sara Cox MBE

Rugby Union Referee

Sara Cox is a trailblazing Rugby Union referee, renowned for her ground breaking contributions to the sport. With an illustrious career filled with remarkable milestones, she has solidified her position as a pioneer in rugby officiating.

In 2015, Cox made history as the first female referee to receive a central contract from the Rugby Football Union (RFU), becoming the world’s inaugural professional female rugby union referee. Her achievements continued to soar when she officiated at the rugby sevens event during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she stood as the sole English referee in the tournament.

Breaking barriers further, in February 2017, Cox became the first female to referee a National League 1 match, and later in the same year, she officiated at the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup in Ireland.

Notably, in March 2018, she added another milestone to her accolades as the first female referee in an RFU Championship match between Cornish Pirates and Doncaster Knights. Her journey saw her officiating at the rugby sevens event during the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia and, in November 2018, becoming the first female referee for a Premiership Rugby Cup fixture between Northampton Saints and Wasps at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. She also served as an assistant referee for various men’s internationals during the same period.

The year 2020 marked yet another historic moment for Cox, as she became the first woman to officiate a Premiership Rugby league match when she was one of Wayne Barnes’ assistants for a fixture between Bath and Wasps. She continued to shine, officiating the 2020-21 Premier 15s Final and, in September 2021, she achieved another ground breaking feat by becoming the first woman to referee a Premiership Rugby League Match between Harlequins and Worcester Warriors at the Stoop. In 2021, Cox reached yet another pinnacle in her career when she was selected as a referee for the Tokyo Olympics. There, she showcased her expertise and skill by refereeing the Gold medal match between New Zealand and France Women.

Cox’s impact extends beyond her remarkable achievements. As an influential figure, she actively nurtures the next generation of referees, particularly women, through workshops, training sessions, and speaking engagements, promoting diversity and inclusivity in rugby.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Sara Cox was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2023 Birthday Honours for her services to rugby union football.
